Why does Mikage agree to move in with the Tanabe family in the novel, Kitchen?

Mikage agrees to move in with the Tanabe family after she visits the apartment and falls in love with the kitchen. Mikage is able to feel comfortable in the home and with the family, especially when they bring home items to make her feel comfortable, like a juicer.
