In Chapter 26, the King approaches Captain Forsyth, who questions his appearance as opposed to the other prisoners.... what does Captain Forsyth intend to do?

Forsyth asks why the King is in a clean uniform and looks healthier than the others, and the King tells him that he looks after his clothes and tries to keep fit. Captain Forsyth becomes angry and dismisses the King, saying that he will make it his business to investigate him.
