Significance of Cameron's Tattoo

Cameron has a number tattooed on her neck that designates her profession and place of birth. The Silver leaders of the tech cities in Norta give each Red a similar tattoo to easily identify their role. The tattoo represents Silver’s dehumanizing attitude towards Reds, as well as the system of oppression that forces Reds into labor. The tattoo also draws a historical comparison to Nazi concentration camps in Hitler’s Germany, where prisoners were similarly tattooed with identification numbers.
