What does Epidural represent?

The epidural is a symbol of female power. Jiyoung uses one while delivering her daughter, and it helps with the pain, but a documentary comes out that same year arguing that mothers should suffer through natural births for their children if they are true, loving mothers, and not lazy, self-centered women.
