What is the author's style in Keeping the Moon by Sarah Dessen?

The language of this novel is fluid, modern, and easy to read. Although the language of the novel is not formal, it uses language consistent with young adults. Some of the language is not as modern as it was when the novel was published, but this does not detract from the story of the novel. The language is educated, strong and descriptive enough that it creates a flow that leaves the reader impressed with the words as much as the plot when the novel is done.
