How does Julian deal with his religious doubts and questions in the novel, Julian?

Julian, being a good scholar, learns to parrot Biblical scripture and hide his true feelings about Christianity. He keeps his doubts and questions to himself and pretends that he is a committed Christian. The opinions he voices aloud are politically correct and do not really express the confusion going on in his mind.
