What was Slocum's opinion of the area?

Slocum stated that the trip to the islands had been delightful and that he thoroughly enjoyed watching the birds and fish. Later, Slocum would refer to Keeling Cocos as a favorite place. "If there is a paradise on this earth, it is Keeling." (Chapter 16, Page 217)
