What is Squee's relationship with his parents like in the novel, Johnny the Homicidal Maniac: Director’s Cut?

Squee loves his parents, and thinks that they are good people. However, his mother usually ignores him and tells him to go talk to his father, who reminds Squee that he was unwanted and that he has been a burden in their lives.
