In the story, Two Men, particularly effective imagery includes the comment about the woman with her lipstick "kissed off," painting a picture of combined carelessness and passion, and the narrator (accidentally?) running Stan into a stop sign, an ironic image as neither the narrator or Stan seems able to "stop" on their own.
