Why does Bertie agree to take Florence to a night club?

Bertie agrees to take Florence out to a nightclub after he finds out that she will be leaving the next day for Brinkley, his aunt Dahlia's estate. Bertie is afraid that if his aunt and Florence get together he will end up engaged to Florence and so he decides he will take her out and convince her to get back together with Stilton.
