Was it necessary to drop the atomic bomb on Hiroshima and Sagasaki?

President Truman decided it was necessary to drop the bombs on the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in order to put an end to the war in the Pacific. Many people believe that it was unnecessary to bomb Nagasaki because the first atomic bomb proved their superiority and severely weakened the Japanese.
