In Chapter 34, Jane is spending time with her newly discovered cousins... the Rivers. Unlike her experience in the Reed home, Diana, Mary, and St. John are caring, soilicitous, and genuinely interested in Jane's welfare. This is something brand new to Jane after her well remembered time in Mrs. Reed's home.
