Who is Lucia Joyce from James Joyce and what is their importance?

Lucia was Joyce's daughter. Diagnosed a schizophrenic, Lucia also shared her father's artistic abilities, which was evident in her love of painting, dancing and singing. Lucia spent most of her life in and out of institutions. After being informed of her father's death, she refused to believe it.
