How does Mother's death affect Ishi?

Once Mother dies, Ishi realizes that he is truly the last of his people. He has no one to care for, so he loses all sense of purpose. He wanders about searching for the spirits that hears calling him. Ishi no longer has anything that matters to him in the living world.
