When the Greek pottery arrives at the museum, Majapa tells Ishi all about the beliefs and traditions of the Greeks. When Ishi asks him how he knows all of this, Majapa explains that the information has been preserved in books. Ishi asks Majapa to help him preserve the Yahi tradition in the same way. Ishi will tell stories, describe the villages, and explain the Yahi customs so that Majapa may write them down and preserve them for others. In this manner, the Yahi Way will not die
