The saldu who discover Ishi's village are disrespectful and, according to Mother, "discourteous." They handle everything in the cave and examine all of the items, moving them out of the cave and later, stealing all of their possessions. It angers Ishi that they walk in without being welcomed and touch all of his belongings, but he is thankful that his family is not hurt.
