On the note he wrote (pp. 198 in paperback, p. 135 PDF “He signed the note”), why do you think he uses the name Chris McCandless instead of Alexander Supertramp?

I think that at this point in his life, Chris was realizing who he really is: he now reaizes his alter ego was not really him.
