The White Rose are resistance figures named Sophie and Hans Scholl, who printed and distributed leaflets against the Nazis. They were murdered by the Nazi regime, but at her trial, Sophie Scholl said someone had to make a start in opposing the injustice of the Nazi occupation. This leads Layla to have courage to be the one who will start.
