Why is Don so interested in Joelle?

Don Gately meets Joelle Van Dyne for the first time and she sparks his interest. She is a new patient, so she is mysterious to him. It also adds to the mystery that she has received special treatment in order to get into Ennet House in the first place. Joelle seems to be charming as well.
