Why does Joelle like to clean?

Joelle realizes that she likes to clean when she is at Ennet House. She connects this to the memory of her cleaning when she dated Orin, but she would also get high when she was doing it because the relationship was going badly. Wallace also indicates that like Hal, Orin is afraid of change. Cleaning might serve to take her mind off of the changes she is making in her life, to become clean.
