In "...Vengeance," the Torah - Judaism's Holy Book - is a representation of the faith that plays such an important role in the lives of the characters. For the women fighting for their freedom, the Torah represents everything that keeps them from that freedom. For the conservative father of one of the women, the Torah represents the values and truths he is fighting to preserve. As such, the Torah is also a fundamentally important symbol in Indecent, one that embodies different aspects of its overall thematic interest in heritage, faith, and identity.
