Throughout the narrative of "...Vengeance," the play-within-the-play that is discussed and presented throughout the narrative of Indecent, the brothel in which the characters live and work represent the corruption and restrictions within which the central characters of "... Vengeance" live and work. It represents the constrictions against which they are determined to rebel, and as such is an important metaphoric obstacle in their thematically central struggle for freedom.
