How do both Madje and Sholem feel about his trip abroad to learn more about the pogroms?

Madje wishes Sholem had never gone to Vilna and learned about the pogroms; Sholem cannot get the images of what he saw out of his head. Madje thinks Sholem should tell his friends what is going on; he wants to appear put together and keep his problems to himself.
