Six of Hemingway's sixteen stories are primarily set in one room or in an indoor location. These six stories mainly deal with the nature of relationships between two people. There are characters looking out their hotel room windows, sitting in front of a fire, sitting on a bed talking to someone else in another room, as well as discussing problems at the kitchen table. The only life-and-death dramatic event portrayed takes place in "Indian Camp" when Doctor Adams operates on the Indian woman.
