Who is Leopold Doppler from In God We Trust, All Others Pay Cash and what is their importance?

Leopold Doppler owns the Orpheum Movie Theater. He is also the resident showman in "Leopold Doppler and the Great Orpheum Gravy Boat Riot." Doppler causes the Great Dish Fever when he guarantees to give brand dinnerware to all the adult women attending the theater. When he gives away too many gravy boats, the women revolt and things go completely wrong. As a result, The Orpheum is forced to close its doors forever, and Doppler goes away.... never to be heard from again.
