Vanessa's Father (Impulse) is a kind person. He is an Army Ranger serving in Afghanistan and feels torn to be so far away when Vanessa needs him. When he hears of everything going on he manages to get work stateside so that he can take care of her. Vanessa is afraid that her biopolar disability will make their relationship as bad as her mother and father's was, but he reasssures her that Vanessa is stronger than that and with the help of the meds won't ever have to go through the problems that Vanessa's mother has.
