What brought about the creation of "I Never Told Anyone"?

I Never Told Anyone was inspired by a writer's workshop run by Ellen Bass. With the help of Louise Thornton, the book was created as a way to give women who were victims of childhood sexual abuse a voice and turned into a way of helping them to heal.
