Martin Silenus is one of the pilgrims. He was born on Old Earth, he is a poet and renown author. Silenus wrote The Dying Earth novels, which made him a wealthy man after their publication. He wrote The Dying Earth volumes I-IX, and was a renowned celebrity and millionaire. Silenus later moved to the City of Poets on Hyperion where the Shrike became his inspiration for writing.
