Who is Skip from the novel, How High We Go in the Dark?

Skip is a young aspiring comedian living in Los Angeles, California. Before the pandemic, Skip was trying to get stand-up gigs in the city. When the Arctic plague reached America, many of his work opportunities disappeared. In the narrative present, Skip's manager calls saying he found him a gig at The City of Laughter, one of the new euthanasia parks. Skip is initially unsure about the job, but has no other options for work. He gives up his apartment and moves out of the city.
