What is Aziz's homecoming like in Chapter 8?

Aziz flies home because his car will not make the trip from Madrid to Casablanca. His father has died, so it is only his wife and mother to greet him. He brings some fabric, dresses, creams and perfumes. He also brings an electric sewing machine. The apartment seems smaller and darker than it did before.
