Why does Eamonn return back to his apartment for Aneeka in Chapter Four?

Eamonn returns to his apartment because of seeing Mrs. and Mr. Rahimi and thinking of their words that marriage is in the small things, not the big things. Eamonn thinks of Aneeka pitting cherries on the front porch and how he wants a life of small things between them.
