Who is Ewan Holt from the novel, Home Before Dark?

Ewan Holt is Maggie’s father and Jess’ husband. It was Ewan who encouraged Jess to agree to buy Baneberry Hall. Because the family was struggling for money after they were forced to flee from the house, he felt he could not pass up an offer to write a novel about their time in what he called a haunted house.
