What are the main conflicts in the story

After narrowly escaping the wights, a group of monsters bent on consuming peculiar children, Jacob and his friends, who all possess special powers, journey to 1940 London in order to cure their beloved protector, Miss Peregrine, of a condition that keeps her in the form of a peregrine falcon. Throughout their trials, Jacob grows closer to Emma, a fellow peculiar, just as he himself grows in both power and maturity until he becomes the group's only hope for survival.
