What is Honored Matres?

An alternate sisterhood to the Bene Gesserit, the Honored Matres are offspring of the "Lost Ones" of the Scattering, originating from Reverend Mothers fleeing Arrakis/Rakis. Allied with scattered Bene Tleilaxu, the Honored Matres - who insist on the use of that title but are called "whores" by the Bene Gesserit - use sexual secrets to gain power over males, insinuate themselves to the point that people's survival depends on them and then rule by simply threatening to withdrawal their gifts.
