Summary of chapter 16

Chapter 16, “Down, Down, Down,” is written from Virgil’s perspective. Virgil has collected dandelions for Gulliver. He also looks for the stones he is supposed to take to Kaori. While he is looking, he hears a noise. It is Chet. Virgil notices that Chet has a pillowcase and he is wearing a red T-shirt. This makes Virgil remember what his grandmother had said about watching out for the color red. Chet makes fun of the resource room and then he sees Virgil’s backpack. He takes it from him and drops it in a well. Virgil only thinks of the fact that Gulliver is in it. Afterwards, Chet leaves.
