Does the narrator trust Maji?

It is clear that the narrator trusts Maji for several reasons. When she thinks she is being followed at the bazaar she seeks refuge in Maji's hut. She then trusts Maji to perform an abortion, and to stop when she is told to do so. The narrator has good reason to trust Maji as she has seen her act with compassion in regards to both Ritu and the old beggar woman.
