Who is Tad Beaumont from Haunted: A Tale of the Mediator and what is their importance?

Tad Beaumont is the boy who asks Susannah to dance with him at the pool party. He plays football for the nearby public school. Susannah thinks he's very handsome, but also that he is not very smart. When Tad drives Susannah home from his house, he kisses Susannah. It is Susannah's first kiss.

It's Tad father whom Susannah thinks is killing the environmentalists who go missing when they oppose his company's building projects. It turns out to be Tad's uncle who is the culprit, however.
