What happened the morning Jake took Paige to get an abortion?

Jake arranges to take Paige to a clinic one hundred miles from Chicago, so there would be no chance of anyone they knew finding out, especially their parents. Paige wakes early on the morning of her appointment and goes to confession, but she is unable tell the priest what she was about to do. Then she and Jake drive to the clinic and find it surrounded by protesters.
