What does Nicholas discover as he looks into divorcing Paige?

Nicholas calls an old college friend who is a divorce attorney for advice on how to precede with a divorce. Nicholas is not happy with what he learns. Paige has the upper hand because she put Nicholas through medical school, so she is entitled to a large part of his earnings. Additionally, Paige does not work the long hours Nicholas does, so she has a better chance of getting custody of Max.
