How does Paige react when something seems off with Max in Chapter 40?

Max is still not right when Nicholas picks him up that night, but no one is concerned except for Paige. Paige tries to draw, but she cannot get the picture to come out the way she wants. Finally, she falls asleep, but she wakes in the middle of the night convinced that Max needs her.
