Marcellus is upset at what is going on in Denmark, as is Horatio. Claudius' handling of Denmark has been less than dignified. While the men hear the partying from the castle as the king "draughts of Rhenish down", the Ghost of Hamlet Sr.'s appearance seems like an added ill-omen.
