Comment on language and style

The language used in "Half Broke Horses" by Jeannette Walls tends to be relatively informal and relies a great deal on dialogue between the characters. Although Anita is a professional rancher, the jargon used on the job is not difficult or something that requires much explanation. The tools and methods used by Lily are common and there is little need for explanation of unfamiliar terms.
