The farmer had been very friendly and kind toward Gulliver when they first met. Although the farmer's daughter still is, the farmer himself has had a drastic change in attitude. The farmer has seen how much profit can be made from charging people to see Gulliver and forces Gulliver to perform, even when Gulliver is sick. In fact, when the farmer thinks that Gulliver will soon die, he makes Gulliver work harder, in order to make as much profit as he can.
