Who is Sir Thomas Wyatt from Green Darkness and what is their importance?

Wyatt is impressed by Celia the first time he meets her and attempts to woo her. Celia, however, is not mutually attracted. When Wyatt leads the rebellion against Queen Mary, he also rapes Celia. He is subsequently hung after the rebellion.
