Who is Allison Findley from Give a Boy a Gun and what is their importance?

Allison Findley is a student at Middletown High School, She is described as an overweight girl, who suffers from low self-esteem. Allison and Gary have known each other since they were little, and the two have dated on and off over the years. While she is privy to the conversations Gary and Brendan have about seeking revenge on their classmates, she believes it is all just talk. In the end, Allison saves the lives of all of the students because Gary refuses to carry out the plan knowing that Allison is in the gym. Allison is also tends to Sam Flach and helps him stop the bleeding in both of his legs. She stands up to Brendan, so that she can do what she needs to do to save Sam.
