Importance of Ms. Castro

Ms. Castro is the guidance counselor at Lanister High School. It is because Kit tells Ms. Castro that a friend of hers killed her father that Ms. Castro suggests that Diane not be given the Severin scholarship. Even though Kit did not give Ms. Castro Diane’s name, she guessed who Kit was talking about and forwarded her concerns about Diane’s morals to the scholarship committee.
