Amma and Dominique are friends and former business partners. They met when auditioning for a play and bonded through their shared feelings of disgust at the systemic sexism and racism within the theatre. They then formed an independent theatre company together, focused on plays about women of color. They are both lesbians but have not shared a romantic relationship.
