What is the main setting in the novel, Ghachar Ghochar?

Bangalore is a highly populated city in the southern part of India, located within the state of Karnataka where it is the capital city. It is the primary setting of Vivek Shanbhag’s novel. The narrator and his entire family (including his wife) currently live in Bangalore. Before getting married, the narrator moved houses once, signaling a shift from small, somewhat communal living, to a large space where each family member could then have their own room and guaranteed privacy.
