What is the importance of Springfield High in the novel, Geektastic: Stories from the Nerd Herd?

Springfield High is the setting of "One of Us" where the characters attend school. This is also where Ezra, Mica, David and Ellen do most of their geek tutoring to teach Montgomery about geek culture so she can impress her boyfriend.
