Who is Mark in the film, Garden State?

Mark is Andrew's strange friend from school. Although they have not seen each other in years, the two still have a fond friendship when they meet again. Mark goes to the trouble of digging up Andrew's mother's favorite necklace from her grave, because he knows how much it will mean to Andrew.
